We start by scheduling the process and timeline for you. The onboarding timeline is designed to allow us to get to know you, your team, and the data for your institution. Milestones include:
- Assumptions development call
- Preliminary review of our model, incorporating your unique setup and assumptions
- Pre-onsite visit or pre-virtual session call to provide overview of the results and discuss objectives
and participants
- Date of our onsite visit or virtual session with your institution
- We work with your team to get the necessary downloads and data. Many clients appreciate this process, as it often helps in identifying data issues.
We customize our Interactive Decision Model with your unique assumptions. During our assumptions development call with your team:
- We guide you in developing key assumptions to represent your institution’s pricing strategy and potential membership behavior. Do not worry, you will not be starting from scratch
- Our consultants work with hundreds of ALM simulations every year which means they are highly experienced in focusing on what’s important and making the process seamless. They use the information you provide ahead of time, as well as your NCUA historical data, to develop starting points for you to consider. And, if you are not sure of the impact of a particular assumption, our consultants can show you the impact in less than a minute. This helps focus the conversation on high-impact assumptions and reduces model risk
Following Your First Simulation:
- We work with management and/or your ALCO and board to present results virtually or onsite. At your invitation, we will provide ALM education using the results of that simulation. We can also be positioned to discuss your credit union’s strategy, in light of the simulation results, by running what-ifs – live – to show the potential impact of initiatives under consideration. This is a key component of business model optimization
Following Your Second Simulation:
- If desired, we will assist you in developing interest rate risk limits and/or triggers now that decision-makers are familiar with the simulation results
- If desired, we can discuss the implications and possible risk mitigation steps if, during any future simulation, we see that you are moving closer to being outside of your risk limits, or have actually moved outside of your risk limits
